to tell DH I think it's mad for us to set out in a blizzard in the car with a 12wo and a 3yo?

For a visit to friends? They live 45mins away (in good traffic/weather) and it involves going on the M25. Terrified having seen news footage from last couple of weeks that we will break down/get stuck in the blizzard and all freeze. If we didn't have 12wo DD I wouldn't be so concerned. Am I being a drama queen?

I have just had a text from someone who says the M25 "is a car park".

Totally irresponsible to go - once you are stuck in a car park on ice, you either keep your engine running to avoid freezing to deathand then run out of petrol, or you just freeze to death.

Yanbu, it's not a day for unnecessary driving esp with a young baby. Stay warm at home, I'm sure your friends will understand.

We've just cancelled a big evening out - please don't go out unless you really have to. Being stuck overnight in your car in freezing conditions is a real possibility.

the website www.trafficengland.co.uk is useful. Type in the motorway and section you want, tick the traffic cam box and you can see exactly what's happening at the moment.

In fact, you would be mad to venture out unless it absolutely essential.

I spoke to my mother in Surrey earlier & she said it was horrendous. And that my brother had been stuck on the A3 for ages.
