When it snowed a couple of weeks ago was stuck in with 3 DC for five days.

Had a few days back to normal and then DC2 got chickenpox and DC1 ill with mystery virus that developed into bad ear infection so ended up stuck in for 6 days straight.

Had 2 normal days and now it's snowing hard again.

This means we won't be able to go to breakfast with Santa tomorrow, my Amazon deliveries can't get here, my new phone can't get here and my Monday morning Sainsburys delivery (of all our Christmas groceries) is looking doubtful

And I'm also really missing my Mum who died last year.

Just needed to share the fact that I can't bear being stuck in the house anymore and having my well laid plans ruined.

I do realise how spoilt I sound and that I'm lucky to have a healthy family etc

Rant over.

Yanbu at all.

It is crap being stuck in with restless kids.

Sorry about your Mum. Sad

StealthPolarBear · 18/12/2010 10:11

:(

FWIW I have been stressing about my amazon deliveries, we have had emails saying there will be huge delays etc - they all turned up this morning. Hopefully yours will be here Mon or Tue

hairyfairylights · 18/12/2010 10:26

Yanbu :( sorry for your loss.

And shame you will miss breakfast with fc. But at leasthe has a sleigh so your presents will get there ;)

DaftApeth · 18/12/2010 10:28

Where abouts are you Haribo? Are you likely to get more snow?

I luckily have all the presents purchased but I'm now worrying as I have sent them all to my mum and dad's and hoping that we will actually be able to get there at the end of the week!

We are in the south though, so hopefully will ok.

We have had the whole family I'll thing too. I am nearly completely deaf from my ear infection but at the least the dcs are better.

Can you get out in the snow for sme fun today?

Bloodymary · 18/12/2010 10:29

YANBU. First Christmas without your Mum must be so sad Sad

blackeyedsusan · 18/12/2010 11:28

These things, (apart from losing your mum of course) are not too bad in themselves BUT it is when they all follow on from each other, and on top of first Christmas without your mum that they seem really bad.

Don't feel like it is unreasonable to rant or get upset as it is Ok to feel how you feel.

I agree with Daft apeth (great name) try to do something else instead that is special, like playing in the snow or something else that I am too daft to come up with. Sorry.

Hope that things improve for you soon.

TyraG · 18/12/2010 11:32

Wow that's tough to be stuck in with the kids for that long. YADNBU, it would be hard for anyone, especially missing your mum, the holidays have the ability to to amplify the sadness. You don't sound spoiled in the least, hope things improve soon. Sending hugs and positive thoughts your way! Xmas Smile

pinkhyena · 18/12/2010 12:28

YANBU not at all, as blackeyedsusan said when these things happen on top of each other it does make things feel much worse. You aren't spoilt in the slightest.

Sorry about your mum Sad
x

Thank you all.

Feel much better having vented.

We live in the South East, have had 4-5 inches of snow so far today, doesn't sound horrific I know but the roads are horrendous. DH is struggling to get our despite having Jeep with 4WD.

Will try and get out for some snow fun today but only if DH can look after DS2 (3yrs but hates going out in the snow) and DS3 (15 weeks old so prefer not to take him out in these temps if don't have to).

Will have a smile on my face by the end of the day, even if it's produced by large glass of wine this evening Xmas Wink.

Not at all spoilt. I'm in the SE as well, it's coming down heavy here as well, so you have my sympathy/empathy on that one.

Definitely go for the large glass of wine. And don't you dare tell yourself you are being unreasonable, because you most definitely are not!

DaftApeth · 18/12/2010 12:49

Having suggested you go out for some snow fun, there is not at lot of it going on here!

Dh disabled so can't go out. My ears hurt even more if i do. Dcs still in pjs here! Xmas Blush

AND they are all now hungry!

Take care. Snow seems to be slowing down in London now.
