Irrational Celebrity Hatreds?

perfectstorm · 17/12/2010 05:33

The Kylie thread got me thinking about annoying celebrities who aren't really doing any harm. They aren't Mel Gibson, or Pete Doherty, or even Kanye West. Yet they raise my bloodpressure, just the same.

Am I being unreasonable to hate:

Kirsty Alsopp. Her home shows did it - I was never bothered when she did Location Location Location. But now she trills on about how you can do all these things on the cheap, before she calls on some artisanal craftsman for the stars (Little Venice Cake Company, anyone?), gets them to give her one-to-one tuition, then fecks off back to her country manor until they turn up a few days later with her own slightly inept offering... and a complete set of stellar ones they put together as a gift, which would ordinarily cost the national debt of a developing nation. It's like Marie Antoinette offering cake recipes to the plebs, while chummily declaring that taste requires no cash.

Bruce Willis: because of the way he purses his lips. No other reason. It makes me shudder.

Forgot fucking Robert Kilroy Silk-- I pity his poor wife

perfectstorm · 17/12/2010 17:52

Does anyone have any actual dirt on Lorraine Kelly being a fake? I always rather liked her. She seemed normal, as the breed go.

I can't stand Jeremy Northam. He has this sleazy aura, despite playing all these upstanding types in period dramas. I just get the sense he's the type to smarm all over teenage girls. I'm sure this is in no way fair and he's a very model of upright probity but he makes my skin crawl anyway.

Fearne Cotton sets my teeth on edge (even though i'm hypocritical as would love her wardrobe)
Fern Britton (although that's probably not irrational..she lives near my work and has been known to throw tantrums in shops)

Ooh good thread!

The Jennifer Aniston/dandruff link might be because she used to do adverts for head and shoulders.

I can't stand Kevin Kline-his voice just grates on me, it sounds put on.

Kerry Katona, why she feels the need to constantly have cameras follow her around I don't know. Can't stand Jordan either but at least she has a break from her reality shows once in a while.

There's a bloke called Mike who presents a programme called Wheeler Dealers who puts me into a real rage whenever he comes on screen. Smug, arrogant twat! Unfortunately DH loves the show :(
