Irrational Celebrity Hatreds?

perfectstorm · 17/12/2010 05:33

The Kylie thread got me thinking about annoying celebrities who aren't really doing any harm. They aren't Mel Gibson, or Pete Doherty, or even Kanye West. Yet they raise my bloodpressure, just the same.

Am I being unreasonable to hate:

Kirsty Alsopp. Her home shows did it - I was never bothered when she did Location Location Location. But now she trills on about how you can do all these things on the cheap, before she calls on some artisanal craftsman for the stars (Little Venice Cake Company, anyone?), gets them to give her one-to-one tuition, then fecks off back to her country manor until they turn up a few days later with her own slightly inept offering... and a complete set of stellar ones they put together as a gift, which would ordinarily cost the national debt of a developing nation. It's like Marie Antoinette offering cake recipes to the plebs, while chummily declaring that taste requires no cash.

Bruce Willis: because of the way he purses his lips. No other reason. It makes me shudder.

Phillip Schofield - so up himself he's inside out.

Chris & Poy (sp?) from Show Me Show Me

Myleene Klass

Amanda Holden

Matt Smith

Steve Wright - he makes me want to commit murder.

Quenelle · 17/12/2010 09:01

Ainsley Harriott. He thinks he's really funny and a great 'personality' but actually he just smarms all over people - and explains their jokes, which is a cardinal sin.

Also agree about Robbie Williams. Loudmouthed, vulgar and apish. Not my kind of band at all usually, but the new, reformed Take That were a class act until they had him back.

scallopsrgreat · 17/12/2010 09:01

Eamonn Holmes
Andrew Neill
Gallagher brothers
Matthew Wright
Amanda Holden (really don't know why - I just can't imagine ever having much in common with her)

scallopsrgreat · 17/12/2010 09:02

David Mellor

perfectstorm · 17/12/2010 09:04

Eamonn Holmes is a vile smug git, agreed. Chalk down a blackboard.

I cannot bear Dom Joly, either. He's so pleased with himself, and I have absolutely no idea why.

has anyone else said Robson Green? Even his name annoys me .And his face. I couldn't stand him when he was a porter on Casualty years ago. Completely irrational, the chap is utterly blameless,I just took a
.

QuoththeRaven · 17/12/2010 09:05

Richard Bacon. I hates him! I really do, and i have no reason to.

Mark Wahlburg - he looks a bit like above

Whatshername from I can cook makes me want to throw up

ooh im feeling all festive now Xmas Grin

QuizteamBleakley · 17/12/2010 09:07

Martine McCutcheon, Russell Brand, Frankie Boyle (a recent addition), Piers Morgan, Carole Vorderman, Nicholas Cage, Cheryl Cole, Jo Whiley (sanctimonious biatch), Daniel Radcliffe, Jamie Oliver (he's doing a chat show - with a spot of cooking - over Xmas = WTF?), John Bishop's teeth, Gillian McKeith (a long-standing hatred), all The Kardashians, Wayne & Colleen Rooney, The Nolans, that bloke from Dollar, Chris Moyles, Andy Tennis-Player chap, oh, I could go on but will stop now that I have revealed myself to be a bubbling vat of hatred. Ah, that feels much better. Lovely.

catinthehat2 · 17/12/2010 09:08

Dislike

MrsChemistrySetInMyStocking · 17/12/2010 09:09

Sean Lock. Every time he makes a joke, he has this shit-eating grin, that just screams, "aren't I ever so amusing!"

JimmyChooChoo · 17/12/2010 09:09

Victoria Beckham-miserable cow
Davina Mcall-can't stand
Danielle Lloyd-awful
Kate Thornton-extremely annoying
Kelly Brook-pretty buy very annoying

XmascarolOfFact · 17/12/2010 09:10

Emma Bunton
Holly Willoughby
Myleene Klass

They are smugness and tweeness personified. Although I am at least thankful that we have heard precious little about their oddly simultaneous pregnancies.

Pocketsocks · 17/12/2010 09:11

Kevin Bacon, Ricky Gervais, there are more but I haven't slept yet. Must come back to this in a moment of crankyness later!

Mercedes519 · 17/12/2010 09:16

Amanda Holden really got on my tits when she was in a magazine going on about motherhood and how wonderful it is and how she ate properly during pregnancy so really didn't have any weight to lose and how fantastic she was feeling.

Was postnatal, overweight, sleep deprived and the smug bitch woman then revealed she had a night nanny and a personal trainer.

She doesn't belong on this thread, hating her is not irrational IMO.

Now if you were to mention the woman off Milkshake...

Mercedes519 · 17/12/2010 09:17

So, scallops subconsciously you knew she was horrid and smug.

Bucharest · 17/12/2010 09:17

Carol Smilie.
Christine Bleakley.
The man with the lisp on the gardening makes me shudder.
Carol Vorderman (it's about ME! when yer man with the cardigan died)
Natalie thing from Strictly. Blonde one. Good dancer, yars, but she has so missed the point that her job is to make the slebs look good and profile them not show us how bendy she is. Ditto Flavia Chachachace. Xmas Grin

Ralph Fiennes,Daniel Day Lewis,Jeremy Irons and Richard E Grant. To me, they are all one person and interchangeable. Does Noddy count as a celebrity? I had an irrational hatred of him when my children were liitle.Anyone who drives round town picking people up and procuring sixpences has to be dodgy in my book.

LeMarron · 17/12/2010 09:31

Nicole Kidman. I cannot bear her, and that Chanel ad was a travesty. 'I like to dance'. God save us.

I had the 'opportunity' to meet her in line with my work some 5 years back and she was a prima donna and a diva. FFS she was visiting a charity but sent through requests about what light bulb wattage she had to be photographed under.

Bucharest · 17/12/2010 09:32

The new doctor who (who looks like someone on Blue Peter made him out of a cardboard box) and the new Dr Who woman.

At the grand old age of 45 they have succeeded where even grubbychops Billy Piper (does anyone else want to get a flannel and the Imperial Leather round her face??) failed. Put me off Dr Who for the forseeable future.

SecretSlattern · 17/12/2010 09:32

Sarah Jessica Parker - just bleuh

Bucharest · 17/12/2010 09:33

LeMarron- I knew someone who knew NK and they concur. An absolute cah. Whereas Tom, for all his spaceship nuttery is apparently Truly Lovely.

fatlazymummy · 17/12/2010 09:36

Cilla Black
Cliff Richard
Gloria Hunniford
Jamie Oliver
Vannessa Feltz
Nicky from Big Brother [though not sure if she can really be described as a celebrity]
Everyone associated with X factor.

These are just a few. I'm sure I will think of some more in a minute.

BorisTheBold · 17/12/2010 09:36

Fred Dineage - don't know why but he's got a face I'd never tire of smacking.

theevildead2 · 17/12/2010 09:37

Carol Malone from NOTW not really a celebrity but DH keeps bringing it in to the house and I feel obligated to read her and get myself horribly angry.

Amanda Holden

Peirce Morgan

Russel Crow

Keith Lemmon

Jordon

Kerry Katona
