AIBU to expect Turkey Giblets to be more than a neck and a bit of fatty arse?

Just unpacked my bird for a trial pre-xmas brining - it was labelled as 'with giblets'. So I'm expecting some serious offal perhaps packed in a nice little bag but no, all my bird contains in a scraggy neck and a seriously fatty looking lump of arse . What is the world coming to?

YANBU however. Giblet gravy is the best,just glad my mum makes that,not me.
When we were small and lived at home,my mum used to make the giblet gravy stuff the night before.Then fish out the offal and give it to the cat as a treat. Cat loved it,but must have wondered why we kids ran from him shrieking. We didn't fancy his giblet breath.

I'd take it back and ask where the giblets are! Perhaps wave the scraggy neck and bum at them shouting "giblets my arse!"

It was a Sainsbo Taste the Difference bird that had been languishing in the chest freezer since last Christmas so don't think taking it back is an option. Have boiled up the neck and arse for the cats and will consider the gravy situaion carefully...

We are cooking Christmas dinner on Boxing day, going to a friends to be cooked for on the day , for the very reason you've cited, giblets, we won't be having a turkey. Roast pork, lamb and beef for us. Nary an innard or stringy/wobbly bit.
