Aibu to expect an eBay sale to be as pictured?

Hi,

I have recently won a little peoples train set on eBay and the picture showed that it was complete... It wasn't a 'stock' picture but one at their home...

It arrived yesterday, was only packaged in a bin bag but seemed ok so I pug it together and noticed 2 attachments were missing - the corn and the windmill so I emailed her...

She has replied saying that they belong to the farm not the train set! I have checked online and the official pictures include them so Aibu to insist she sends them on??? I only bid as it was a complete set!!!

um, if the corn and the windmill don't belong in the set then it IS complete surely???

oh sorry, i have now read your thread properly. duh!

yes, i woul,d definitely e-mail hjer back and point out that the pictures you have seen all have them in and you would like them

otherwise leave neg feedback? were they in the picture SHE had put on ebay?

flippinggorgeous · 12/12/2010 16:23

Of course YANBU. If she won't send them on and they were in the picture report her to Ebay.

fel1x · 12/12/2010 16:23

seems they do belong in the set but seller is just saying that they dont!
I'd emaail her a link to official picture showing the items as belonging to the set you bought and re-ask her to send them on as they clearly belong to the set, she clearly has them and she also photographed them in the listing of the item you won!
She is trying it on!

If she sold you something other than pictured then you should insist that she sends them too or gives you a full refund including return postage. If it was in the picture it should be included in the sale imo. If she doesn't you could open a Paypal dispute if you're that bothered about it.

notremotelyintofootie · 12/12/2010 16:25

Yes they were definitely in the picture and the set has two holes where these are supposed to go!

I have just emailed her again so at least I know I'm not being unreasonable to ask for them!

Did she make a list of all the things included in the set in the description?

If not, she should have made it clear in the description that it wasn't included.

I'd raise a dispute via eBay if you dont get any joy from her.

notremotelyintofootie · 12/12/2010 17:25

Nothing was detailed it was just a picture and a one line description...

She has replied saying she will now forward on so fingers crossed!!!

Thanks everyone!

Firawla · 12/12/2010 18:30

im sure the corn and the windmill do belong in the train set, we have got it. she is trying it on

Have you seen the complete set for sale new? My DCs gathered a huge collection of Little People toys (been played with loads, so great buy)

The train comes with gates which lead to the other sets, e.g the farm. The gates do have holes where things like the corn and windmill fit, but those pieces do come with the add on sets as far as I recall, so she is probably right. Should have either pointed this out, or taken the photo showing only what was included though.

notremotelyintofootie · 12/12/2010 21:55

All the other little gates had the attachments, it was just these two that were missing and this set on amazon has them included...

I agree, little people is great! My Dd has just turned one and loves the house, car, fire engine and bus she already has!
