'I know others have it worse than me'?

Of course others have it worse than you. And others have it better than you. That doesn't make what you are feeling/experiencing any less important or real.

I have a chronic pain illness. I never feel 100% well. That doesn't mean I can't sympathize when someone has a cold.

My DH and I are doing fairly well, even in this economy. That doesn't mean I am not jealous of people with millions in the bank or sickened by the banking industry's seemingly cavalier attitude about the bail out.

So feel what you feel and FFS stop apologizing for it!!

BTW not a thread about a thread but a thread about a 1,000,000 threads!

And this is my XMas name. Regular name is Tee2072.

Hi edam

Thanks for your concern.
Yes, i ahve been referred to a pain clinic and my appt on Monday was relative to that, so you can see why I'm annoyed at having to cancel it haha!!

I've also been referred to a dental acupuncturist and am just waiting for an appt.

I'm a great believer in alternative therapies as well and will probably go for hypnosis.

I was hoping to get a parcel today containg 2 particular essential oil blends, specifically for one of my conditions. I don't want to say too much in case anyone in RL recognises me. Must change my name!

Also, I will be attending pain managemant classes in February so there are plans afoot but they're just taking a while to come to fruition!

Thanks again, though, that was kind of you.

oh OK, confusion all on my part then. Which is not unusual... Grin

ChippingIn · 11/12/2010 17:10

I understand what you are saying, BUT I don't think there is anything wrong with acknowledging that other people are having a worse time of it than you.... so YABU even though you have good intentions :)

funkingcart · 11/12/2010 17:27

Well Tee, Wink

I have posted before about my fuckwit slightly irritating ex and have been told that I need to get a dose of reality (apologies oh great queen reality of MN) and realise that what I'm getting wound up about is not as bad as other people have to put up with.

So I think YABeversoslightlyU because sometimes I people put that on a thread because they know that others have it worse but still want to have a moan.

so there!

ItsAHollyJollyTee · 11/12/2010 17:41

Funkingcart? You just confirmed what I said!

You are completely entitled to a moan even though other people have it worse than you.

That's what I said!

I just don't think it's silly to say 'oh I know others have it worse, so I shouldn't moan.'

Why the hell not? A good moan is a good thing!!

ChippingIn it's not that I think other people having it worse than you shouldn't be acknowledged, it's that I think that just because you acknowledge doesn't mean you can't have a moan as well!
