He grew a moustache for November, fine it's for charity.
It's now December and he won't shave it off.
It's like living with an older version of Peter mandleson.
Not a pretty sight.
He is So stubborn, no amount of nagging has worked.

So my lovely fiends(you know who you are)and I have come up with a plan.
I will wear a moustache, drawn on with khol pencil, or stuck on until the day he shaves his off.

Yes or no

Ignore it - treat him like a toddler - the novelty will soon wear off otherwise you will be wearing a kohl moustache til the middle of January.

My dh also grew one for Movember - I couldn't bear it so i feel your pain.

SuePurblybiltByElves · 09/12/2010 21:38

for you

I like the Weasel

zanz1bar · 09/12/2010 21:40

He grew a beard a couple of years ago and that took nearly ten months to get rid of.
I can tell he is getting attached to it, lots of stroking, shudder.
He won't get fed up,. I think he secretly wants to grow the full z z top beard and tache combo.

Get a fake one...a BIG one. Wear it only in bed. Every night, in the dark he will feel facially assaulted!

Asteria · 09/12/2010 21:59

you could take to wearing an enormous mirkin in bed.... I'm thinking small dog proportions!

sleighBELLasringing · 09/12/2010 22:01

OP, I feel your pain.

DH has grown a beard and a moustache - eeewww.

I have not kissed him since it started!!

I call him the "wild man of borneo". Facial hair does not suit him one bit and I hate it.

JingleJulezbooBells · 09/12/2010 22:03

shave it in his sleep!!

My DH did movember too but i made sure it went the 1st dec!!

ABird · 09/12/2010 22:06

To all of your DHs who grew moustaches for Movember, thank you.

SherbetDibDab · 09/12/2010 22:07

You are so NBU. I think it was very good of you to indulge the moustache even in November.

In reality it's you, the poor old spouse who should have been sponsored. The man, as usual gets all the glory. Do people not know what goes on behind closed doors. Have they even tried to imagine what it's like to be kissed by a man with a moustache.

Tell him - It's me or the moustache -

zanz1bar · 09/12/2010 22:16

Yup going to do it.

School run with a full tache drawn on.

ABird · 09/12/2010 22:17

...have you even tried to imagine what it's like living with a man with prostate cancer?

Sorry, sorry. I know this is a tongue in cheek thread, but Movember was such an important awareness campaign. And I am feeling very fragile.

zanz1bar · 09/12/2010 22:24

Oh lovely Abird, yes it is serious.

I will add a donation tomorrow when I wear my tache.

And next November he can grow the full Groucho.

SherbetDibDab · 09/12/2010 22:28

Sorry ABird, it is only tongue in cheek. My dad has had prostrate cancer and my husband grew a Movember moustache this year, so I do feel a little bit involved.
Although, obviously, it in know way compares to a diagnosis of cancer, I feel sympathy to the op. Her husband has done a good thing but now it is done. I was surprised at how emotional I felt when my dh shaved his moustache. I felt like I had my husband back.

Again I don't compare this to what you are going through with your dh and send all my best wishes for his treatment.

ABird · 09/12/2010 22:35

Sorry again. Hope your DF has made agood recovery Sherbet.

Again, well done your DHs. And to you all for putting up with the 'taches, all through November and beyond Xmas Grin

TattytinsellooksDevine · 09/12/2010 22:43

Movember is a good cause, but moustaches in December are not helping anyone!!! Grin

There is only one man who can rock a moustache and that is Tom Selleck.

That is all.

blackeyedsusan · 09/12/2010 22:49

dh wanted to grow a beard/ moustache. told him fine, but as i didn't like it he would not be getting any kisses from me til it was gone. He didn't grow a moustache. (Wasn't for any fund raising thing though. I would have been more accomodating if so Still may not have kissed him tho, pulling a face at the thought.)

dannyblanchflower · 09/12/2010 22:56

I lived with Lech Walsea for movember so I feel your pain! Tell him you'll donate £x to the cause for it to go now.

zanz1bar · 10/12/2010 16:18

It worked
the tache has gone.

Dh has worked from home all day and I have worn a selection of charming kohl moustaches.
He finally caved in.

fridascruffs · 10/12/2010 23:32

And you didn't have to resort to the pubic hair on sellotape option! (Did you threaten it?)
(I am perversely disappointed)

pollywollyhadadollycalledmolly · 11/12/2010 00:27

I would so draw one on!!! He would soon shave it if u went to the shops etc with it on.

My oh had one last month but its gone now

ShanahansRevenge · 11/12/2010 00:33

I never heard of this before...I will get DH involved next time...his Dad has PC and it is a big issue for DH.

Plus he has always secretly wanted a tache!
