... is fantastic Grin

She has come to visit for a few days, and is currently hemming my new curtains while I mumsnet and drink wine work.

I know lots of you have difficult MILs (understatement, I know - and I both sympathise and live vicariously through your tales of woe), but AIBU to be thrilled that I got lucky in the MIL lottery?

Gloating, me? Never Wink

yadnbu, i want to be like your mil, that is if i'm lucky enough to one day have such a great dil (like you of course) Grin

browneyesblue · 09/12/2010 21:47

Ta very much Smile

I'd quite like to be her type of MIL too. She's just poured some more wine, and I've had a bit of a whinge to her about my lack of mad MIL stories. She said she'll try harder.

She can come again Grin

Gloat away.

Am Envy
The only problem I have with my MIL is that she lives a 9 hour flight away.
She's lovely, and brings out the absolute best of DH.

YANBU.

Mine's lovely too, she came round with baked goodies the other day...much appreciated!

I too love reading the stories of others mad MILs though Grin

Can I join the 'I have a lovely MIL' gang? Grin

marriednotmulled · 10/12/2010 16:58

Come in, come in!

Haven't seen you on here in ages SKOMH (your name stuck in my head for some reason Grin)

SantasKnickersOnMyHead · 10/12/2010 17:01

Ah, I've been around Grin

My mil is fantastic. She has had breast cancer twice, having on removed last year and she has not once grumbled. Lovely lady she is! I love her to bits Smile

LittlePickleHead · 10/12/2010 17:04

Oooh I have a lovely MIL as well! I know I am VERY lucky and promise not to take her for granted.

She has literally just called to say she is posting edible Christmas tree decorations to us. Fab!

TottWriter · 10/12/2010 17:16

My MIL is lovely too. A teensy bit trodden on my FIL, and a whole heap nicer than my mum who can be frankly terrifying at times.

I feel sorry for DP, he really has lost out in terms of MILs. I've gone and saddled him with a bloody cliche...
