I hate text speak of all kind, I agree, people lol at the most ridiculous times, my oh cousin on facebook lol's constantly and I really want to post really withering comments but I can't bring myself to ruin boxing day!

My MIL thinks that LOL means lots of love. Has left some amusing text due to this when texting about serious things!

A manager in my department says LOL. As in ell-oh-ell. It kills a piece of my soul every time.

I used to have a manager who at the end of team meetings would say "Are we cool and the gang?".

A piece of my soul is still loitering in that meeting room!

lol is ok if something is really that funny, but I've read some posts on here and other sites sometimes, where someone will tell you a really sad or horrible story, interjected with 'lol's - honestly!

It's supposed to be used so as not to offend anyone. You cannot see facial expressions through words so if you are teasing then writing lol indicates this.

No, it's bloody irritating.
