The one I hate is LOLOL. I mean what the fuck IS that?

FluffyDonkey · 09/12/2010 14:27

How about :

SS - Sniggers silently
SI - sniggers inappropriately
HFL - hiccups from laughter
WS - wryly smiles

Finn15 · 09/12/2010 14:28

Finn15 · 09/12/2010 14:28

MarniesMummy · 09/12/2010 14:29

I don't do lol's at all and I (inwardly)judge anyone who uses them as being pillocks!!

Harsh but fair!

propercrimbo · 09/12/2010 14:30

I hate text speak of all kind, I agree, people lol at the most ridiculous times, my oh cousin on facebook lol's constantly and I really want to post really withering comments but I can't bring myself to ruin boxing day!

ThatllDoPig · 09/12/2010 14:31

My MIL thinks that LOL means lots of love. Has left some amusing text due to this when texting about serious things!

JamieLeeCurtis · 09/12/2010 14:31

I love all those.
most pertinent to me is:

WSAB - wees self a bit

Finn15 · 09/12/2010 14:32

The dog's dead LOL

BitOfFun · 09/12/2010 14:36

Love your name, ThatllDoPig. FAG.

Longtinsellyjosie · 09/12/2010 14:37

It's when people do it more than once that it pisses me off

Shanetta Vacuous is late for work lol lol lol

Are you actually laughing out loud? No.

Odder still was one of the comment boards when the Gordon Brown MN webchat was in the news - someone said the chat was "wittier than [he'd] expected, some actual lollivers" Urgh. Hmm

snowflake69 · 09/12/2010 14:38

I write LOL all the time but im quite young and its normal to me. Same as most text speak really

Finn15 · 09/12/2010 14:39

TinselinaBumSquash · 09/12/2010 14:45

Katiepoes · 09/12/2010 14:50

A manager in my department says LOL. As in ell-oh-ell. It kills a piece of my soul every time.

MarniesMummy · 09/12/2010 14:56

I used to have a manager who at the end of team meetings would say "Are we cool and the gang?".

A piece of my soul is still loitering in that meeting room!

TragicallyHip · 09/12/2010 14:58

YANBU I can't stand it!!

classydiva · 09/12/2010 14:59

Makes me cringe too.

Its childish and bakes my noodles.

MooMooFarm · 09/12/2010 15:05

lol is ok if something is really that funny, but I've read some posts on here and other sites sometimes, where someone will tell you a really sad or horrible story, interjected with 'lol's - honestly!

christmaseve · 09/12/2010 15:19

It's supposed to be used so as not to offend anyone. You cannot see facial expressions through words so if you are teasing then writing lol indicates this.

reikizen · 09/12/2010 15:22

No, it's bloody irritating.
