Its doing my head in. Constant updates of "56 love our nights out, you are a great friend." and "380 you are a great person, love you lots xx"

uugh. I don't care. Especially when I don't know who the epople are so its not interesting.

I think my own nnumber game is better actually - OK - NEW NUMBER GAME ......... Ready ?? . . . . . . Inbox me your bank account number or credit card Number (along with Exp. date & 3 digit Security code) and I will post on my status which bill I paid with it or which Christmas Pressie I bought myself from you !!!

YANBU - Yes, I do think your game sounds much better. Grin
I always hide those other annoying game posts. You know the ones where they want you to buy a sheep from their bloody farm or something.

giraffesCantDanceOnAllThisSnow · 08/12/2010 23:25

Yes recently I have found it harder to hide them, usually you can hide the whole application but recently its just offering to let you hide that post or whole person.

beautifully enough the only person who is playing this game is having a convosation with each person via chat so i can see exactly who they are referring to. it makes very very amusing reading.

But yanbu and urs us better.

UnquietDad · 08/12/2010 23:26

I always hide Farmville stuff and anybody who throws me a virtual anything.

I am also seriously tempted to hide adults who count the number of "sleeps" to something...

...and those who get childishly excited about snow, forgetting that for some people it doesn't mean jolly snowball fights and building snowmen, it means scraping the car off at 6am and battling through horrendous roads to get to work...

I also hate smug status updates. You know the ones along the lines of Housework all done, kids in bed, christmas presents wrapped and ready in October. Jocasta told me i'm the best mummy in the whole world, my life is so great, blah blah blah.

I admit this could be caused by jealously as I am a self confessed dis-organised lazy slattern who hates housework.

UnquietDad · 08/12/2010 23:43

Oh yes, I had a couple of October-wrappers. Get a life, I thought!

DeckTheIceWithDragonsAndHolly · 08/12/2010 23:46

The first lot of postal deadlines are the end Oct/beginning of Nov though. I managed to make one of those but have totally missed the 6th dec deadline for something else. Grin

izzywizzywoowooo · 08/12/2010 23:50

YANBU!

I've done the same. :)

Liv77 · 08/12/2010 23:50

I can forgive those that need to post early but the wrapper I was referring to also (according to their status) had their Christmas tree and decorations up in early Novmeber Confused

DeckTheIceWithDragonsAndHolly · 08/12/2010 23:54

Now that is just wrong!. havent got ours up yet. will be another week before it gets put up.

other people to hide: those who give you a blow by blow account of their day, every day!

SheWillBeLoved · 08/12/2010 23:56

I've done it. As well as a grumpy status reading "You all may as well send a picture of your arse in a message rather than a number. Comes to something when you have to assign yourself a number and wait in queue for your friends to say something nice about you, eh? G'night!"

I'm poorly, I'll get away with it.

UnquietDad · 08/12/2010 23:57

It sounds a bit like Facebook Lottery.

"First out tonight, no, 49! A preferred friend three times in the past, first time on a Wednesday..."

SheWillBeLoved · 08/12/2010 23:59

Xmas Grin at FB Lottery

midlandsmumof4 · 09/12/2010 00:22

I like FarmVille.........[fblush}.sorry.

Caboodle · 09/12/2010 21:31

Would love to see the one that says...Number 18, you are a complete cow and I have always hated you (followed by a couple of kisses / smiley face / lol etc)

DuelingFanio · 09/12/2010 23:34

What is it? CAn someone explain how it works?

DitaVonCheese · 09/12/2010 23:41

YANBU. I have nearly all apps hidden but this isn't an app, it's just people posting status updates, and some of them I actually like.

DF you may know the answer by now as there's at least one person on your FB doing it Xmas Wink but basically you PM someone a number and then they post their status telling you what they think of you but only identifying you by that number, so you both know who you're talking about but no one else does.

FFS if you're going to do it then do it by return of PM, stop cluttering up my newsfeed with pointless shitting boring crap. I am quite riled about it Xmas Grin

DitaVonCheese · 09/12/2010 23:42

NB the last paragraph is directed generally at people on my FB who are doing this, not suggesting that you're about to start Xmas Wink

Asteria · 09/12/2010 23:45

nobody has PM'd me any numbers Sad

DitaVonCheese · 09/12/2010 23:49

Have you set this or something like it as your status?

"Message me a number between 1 and 500 and I'll tell you in a status how I feel about you without anyone knowing its you. post this as your status and see what you get."

Do it now, wait for the numbers to roll in and half your friends to desert you in their droves Grin

MrsShrekTheThird · 09/12/2010 23:53

I was wondering what all the numbers were for, thought it was another bloody daft list thing Hmm

MedusaIsHavingABadHairDay · 10/12/2010 00:22

Actually... another perspective here..
My 16 yr old DD has been quite depressed:( She's a popular, bright kid in 6th form but battles with what I suspect will be dx as manic depression eventually..

The numbers game tonight has clogged my facebook...but the statuses for my DD have been amazing. They have reminded her that she IS loved, IS cared about HAS value.... they made her smile, and laugh, and reminded her that she matters to a lot of people.

So it may be annoying and puerile... but it's also friendly.. it's people being NICE about eachother.

SO maybe not such a bad thing????
