teachers imo get a lot of crap on here(understandable sometimes)
but I just wanted to say how good dd's have been
she has never had a bad one, oh ok there was one I was scared of, as she was sharp with me once, but she turned out to be one of the nicest people I have ever met.
then there was the one who just didn't get dd as she was more used to PLMD.
but they have all been so good and kind.

Lovely :)

My own DD's teachers have always been excellent.

My DS has loved all his teachers too. He enjoys school so much and has had a very relaxed relationship with all of them.

As a teacher its nice to see someone take the time to say something nice rather than vent some sort of rage about something usually taken far too seriously.

Dd's teacher is positively terrifying (to me). She has a scary red pen. Dd loves her and she is the font of all knowledge. She looks about 12 but has taught 27 children to read, and to write in beautiful cursive script since 1st September. I am in AWE of this woman!

DS teacher this year (YR2) is wonderful.

She has got to know 'him' not previous perceptions of him, got past his quirks, accepted them as part of who he is, and most importantly realised despite the above he is capable and he has learnt loads.

He has gone from slightly below avereage/ average to average/ above average in ALL areas in the space of less than 1 term.

The woman literally is AMAZING. Xmas Grin

I am a teacher so you have made me smile :) I hope that my kids and their parents (or at least some of them) feel that way about me.

As a teacher can I say thank-you. Most of us work very hard and we really do like the kids we teach (I am vv lucky, I teach really quite fabulous 6th formers who work really hard, and they always hold doors open / carry my books etc - I am 32 wks pregnant). I also adore DS1's teacher (he is 5), she is the calmest person I have ever met Grin

Just home from a Christmas Concert at the School, the energy and commitment those teachers have is incredible. They've encouraged ds so much and helped him to discover what "his thing" is.

Alouiseg · 09/12/2010 21:52

In fact I've just emailed the school to say thanks!

This is so lovely to read, as another teacher thank you for posting.
