To get aggressive with the passive-aggressive smiley ?

christmasheave · 07/12/2010 14:07

Would it really be that unreasonable if I printed out in 78pt bold font the passive aggressive smiley that some twunt has just put on the end of a shitty email that he has unnecessarily mailed to half the senior managers, with the sole intent and purpose of stapling it to his fucking head?

Would it? Would it?

If you are unhappy with something that a member of my staff has done..

a) mail me before you mail everyone else.
b) get your story straight you lying cunt-weasel
c) Don't end it with a fucking :)

Ditto. And I agree that it is fucking irratating when someone copies in loads of management bods in attempt to wield a bit of authority. If you don't have the balls to press the issue yourself, then grow some.

Staplers at the ready

Smile sorry, couldn't resist!

TwinklePants · 07/12/2010 14:13

Irritating = doh, can't spell

jonesybells · 07/12/2010 14:16

I think you're overreacting personally.

I think it's shocking that you would consider physically harming someone with an office stationery item, you should be ashamed of yourself.

And you might consider some anger management.

Smile
jonesybells · 07/12/2010 14:16

and you do know i'm joking of course

Xmas Grin
christmasheave · 07/12/2010 14:17

I am glad to know that staplers are at the ready. I am calming down now, but the part that pushed me over the edge went...

"I don't wish to apportion blame to anyone, but his inability to answer this simple query shows your processes to be highly defective."

All the best :)

argh argh argh argh Xmas Angry

You. Didn't. Give. Him. The. Right. Information. You. Prick.

juneybean · 07/12/2010 14:23

Ooo I didn't realise people also used that smiley as passive aggressive, when I'm in a one with someone they do get the old :) thrown in

glassbaublescompletelybroken · 07/12/2010 14:28

Hit "reply to all" and type:

"I don't wish to apportion blame to anyone, but your inability to gather and accurately assess all the facts before expressing an opinion shows your personality to be highly defective"

SMulledwineS · 07/12/2010 14:30

Go with jonseys idea CH

I dare you :) :) :)

christmasheave · 07/12/2010 14:43

May well do.

I'm trying to reply at the moment in a professional manner. It hurts not to be able to go with Glass's response. :(

SMulledwineS · 07/12/2010 14:45

Yeah her response was good too..

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/12/2010 14:48

What a WANKER to end a work email with a smiley.

harassedinhertinselpants · 07/12/2010 15:06

Just spat tea on keyboard jonesy!!! Xmas Grin

CH if you staple it to his forehead, and I really think you should cos he's a twunt, then please, please use Xmas Smile.

You don't want them thinking you're all scrooge-like!

christmasheave · 07/12/2010 16:26

OK, I didn't staple it to his head. I didn't even do a 'reply all' where I pointed out how he was in the wrong. I didn't even reply with a smiley.

I did, however, arrange for one of the senior technicians to set his web access to "child" for the rest of today so whenever he tries to access anything other than the corporate website, Intranet and (in the spirit of fairness) Cbeebies etc, he gets a great big "Inappropriate Content" warning, which makes it look like he's trying to log onto porn.

It will be off his profile tomorrow.

Don't fuck with the IT Manager.

DancingThroughLife · 07/12/2010 16:34

Well done OP Xmas Grin

The IT Manager is the single person in the whole company you don't want to piss off. I'm married to one, I know their power. Even if most of the people in the company underestimate it. Brings many happy stories home.

Brilliant.

DancingThroughLife · 07/12/2010 16:35

Still think you should staple something to his head though, in the spirit of passive agressiveness Xmas Grin

SMulledwineS · 07/12/2010 16:37

Haha that's ace!!!

PureAsTheDrivenShow · 07/12/2010 16:45

YANBU.

But it might be better to accept that it's just your personality that makes you unable to tolerate the simplicity of an inappropriately placed smiley. You're just not one of those people who can let the insignificant things wash over them. Smile

Kitta · 07/12/2010 16:47

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

SkiingGardeningTwinklyBauble · 07/12/2010 16:50

Excellent revenge! And no trace either, sneaky!

catinthehat2 · 07/12/2010 17:04

Write a note directly to his manager copying nobody else other than your own leader.

Express your gentle disappointment at this corporate faux pas. Hope fervently that this kind of thing never happens again as it fills up the inboxes of important people with annoying tripe. The kind of tripe that always comes back to haunt the managers of the person sending it - as it can "so" quickly "get about" exactly what a nitwit the manager has in his team.

Xmas Smile

This Works

Oh I love that you messed with his internet access, there are so many ways to wreak revenge when you work in the IT dept.
