by the homemade decoration Dd1 has just proudly hung from my wonderful Christmas tree.

It's making me twitch.

DD was only a few weeks old last christmas, so my mum brought over some of the tat I'd made as child, and put it on my tree! Xmas Shock It's not there this year, no idea where it's gone... Grin

could be worse - could be a tampon christmas angel

hmmSleep · 05/12/2010 17:49

pallymama, she's getting her own back!

Hmm, I am easily spooked, there is something vaguely sinister about it... The eyes do follow one round the room a little.

Could you get dd to draw some sunglasses on it?

Failing that what about putting it inside one of the those clear 'fill it yourself' baubles that hobbycraft type shops do so that it can't escape it will blend in with rest of tree decor.

annie987 · 05/12/2010 17:50

That's why my kids have their own tiny 2 foot tree in the kitchen - they can hang their rubbish on that!

Shodan · 05/12/2010 17:50

I quite like it Xmas Blush.

But then I have 2 dss, one of whom flatly refused to make anything remotely decorative for the tree when he was young. I keep hurling glitter and glue in ds2's general direction in the hope that he might make something.

And anyway, I have four trees in the house- there'll be a special place for all beauteous hadncrafted decorations somewhere, I'm sure. Just not on the two main trees which are mine all mine

hmmSleep · 05/12/2010 17:51

At least it could come in handy activate. (do you actually have one Shock)

'Tis a Mick Hucknall angel.. Aaahhh Bless!

Not as bad as the 'thing' DS2 made a few years ago.. That HAD to be hung on public display- in the front window!..

SummerRain · 05/12/2010 18:09

My mother still has the cardboard nativity i made in kindergarten Grin and several diseased looking fairies i made in primary school in Germany

My lot only really started adding to the tree last year but i love the tat... i have a red and gold theme too but it's easy to work their little glittery massacres lovingly crafted baubles into the general theme.

Stop being a Scrooge and enjoy the craptastic-ness of a Christmas with children Wink

hmmSleep · 05/12/2010 18:17

JellyKat, LOL, it is Mick!

All of you telling me to enjoy it, I'm trying, I'm looking . . . . nope, it is still crap.

SummerRain, your name reminded me of one of my favourite .

OP posts:
SummerRain · 05/12/2010 18:30

I love that song Smile Although I chose the name as I live in the West of Ireland and it rains for most of the summer here so it seemed apt when i was trying to think of a new NN

Vanillacandle · 06/12/2010 16:47

hmmSleep - I see your point.

Snow refusing to go anywhere here - how have you melted yours? Been out with the hairdryer? Am v. Xmas Envy

hmmSleep · 06/12/2010 16:54

Vanilla, it stopped melting and froze into the most life-threateningly slippery substance I've ever had the misfortune to slip over walk on!

Take care then, hmmSleep, we don't want you in plaster over Christmas!
