Festive Christmas Loo Roll?

Funkychunkymunky · 05/12/2010 00:18

I went to the supermarket today and one of the things on my list was loo roll.

I looked at all of my favourite brands and none of the plain white were on offer.

So I bought some festive Andrex on half price.

I thought it was a good buy. After all it just goes down the toilet.

DH was horrified. He says I should hide it all in our bathroom and not let guests see it.

I put it in both bathrooms and downstairs loo.

AIBU??

I saw some "deluxe" Christmas loo roll in a shop today - £3.99 a roll! Shock

I'd want the paper to come with a free arse-wiping punkawalla for £3.99 a roll.

Funkychunkymunky · 05/12/2010 00:23

LOL This has tacky Christmas stars and bells on it but was very cheap for Andrex. I would definately not pay more for it!

£3.99 a roll? Xmas Shock

I would pay a bit extra for toilet rolls with Camerons and Osbourns faces on them :o

AllGoodNamesGone · 05/12/2010 00:25

It's a standing joke in our family to have festive loo roll ever since my mother bought some years ago.

adds to shopping list

£3.99!

DH said that should be saved for the christmas morning jobby!Grin

I never knew christmas bog roll existed. Agree with your DH though it should be for the upstairs loo only.

TmiEdward · 05/12/2010 00:29

I kid you not

Funkychunkymunky · 05/12/2010 00:31

OMG santa loo roll!! Is that for kids for have just learned he doesn't exist?

I think it's better that guests see it. We could have a sweepstake on how long it takes for someone to mention it Xmas Grin

Can you say which supermarket? I MUST have some but can't see it on Tesco.com! Xmas Grin

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 05/12/2010 00:55

Can I ask which supermarket Funky? I havent managed to find my festive loo roll yet!!!

curlymama · 05/12/2010 00:57

I bought some of the expensive Christmas loo roll last year. From the garden centre Xmas Hmm

But it's really thick and it didn't flush properly in our downstairs toilet. So the toilet got a bit blocked until it had been flushed about 20 times, and the dc's were banned from using it.

I might have to give the Andrex stuff a go.

Funkychunkymunky · 05/12/2010 01:00

It was Sainsburys. I actually had to ask a very tall member of staff as it was on the top shelf, at the back. Xmas Blush They had obviously sold lots!

Funnily enough I am going to a garden centre tomorrow for tinsel. Turns out neither Sainsbos or Morrisons stock it near me Hmm

Thick toilet roll - I only ever buy it in desperation, and am appalled that the kids still pull off 2 feet of it at a time. Don't mind so much when it is the cheap stuff. Obviously need to retrain my little darlings to recognise quality goods...

TitianTinselTemptress · 05/12/2010 16:29

Is it this??? I am a bit disappointed if it is, I was hoping for something less tasteful Xmas Grin

backwardpossom · 05/12/2010 16:34

YANBU - Festive loo roll is ace Xmas Grin

ChippingIn · 05/12/2010 16:36

It's tacky - but isn't that half of what Christmas is about? Xmas Smile

Funkychunkymunky · 05/12/2010 23:36

I can't see your link Titian.

Christmas is all about tackiness. Although DH takes things a bit seriously. he won't let me touch the Christmas tree and is talking about masking up the windows so he can spray snow stuff on them perfectly. Xmas Hmm
