I want to see my cousin's new baby boy, but I'm not feeling massively good or well (slight wheezy cough).

Should I man up and go anyway as she says she could do with the visit, or stay away?

If she wants you to go, I would go. If she was unsure, I would stay away. Up to her, really. Maybe se needs to see another adult for sanity and thinks a slight cold is worth the risk?

rather stay away. you could so easily pass your cold on the the LO!
Keep in touch on the phone, text, skype, etc.

Ring her and ask?

Eachpeach80 · 04/12/2010 10:27

If you had come to see my son when he was that age, with a cold, I would have been really angry.

rubyslippers · 04/12/2010 10:32

Have you got a fever?

If is a bit of snot the. It really wouldn't bother me but ring and ask the mum

Agree re hand washing etc

LessonsinL · 04/12/2010 10:37

Bit of snot, bit of a sore throat, that's it.

The last thing I want to do is make her angry, eachpeach80 :)

I know its just a bit of a cold but you should definitely ring and ask, then its her choice.

I had someone come and visit my PFB and I when she was about 2 weeks old (with her DC) and casually mentioned that they were 'just getting over bronchitis' my heart sank and I was a nervous wreck the rest of the week worried my DD was going to be ill.

She never did get it, but TBH I am still annoyed that my friend didn't even consider that perhaps I could do without an ill newborn or even just the worry of a ill newborn.
