To think what is wrong with cheap normal pavements

Our council spent a fortune lifting our boring old town centre pavements to replace with big shiney tile slab things which cant take the frost and move so when you stand on one end they shoot up at the other end, in this weather they are even more slippy than marble tiles inside shopping centre so today there are loads of council staff throwing salt down and it is still terrible to walk on. Rant over, off to make a cup of coffee

wait until they get sued several times then wait for the cheap normal surfaces to magically reappear.

I was having the exact same rant as DP and I carried newborn DD from car park to registrars office. They're slippy enough when it rains, never mind snow/slush/ice. Daftness. And now our LA are trying to make £120million of savings over the next 5 years.
