To think DP could have shown more concern for MY safety?

Last saturday night, a bloke who was either drunk or high kept getting up from his seat in the cinema and leaving the room, each time stumbling past me and DP and walking behind us (we were sat at the back). DP later said "he was really bothering me". I said "I know, I feel so uncomfortable when people are stumbling around behind me" and he replied "yeah I know, I was getting ready to have a go ... if he'd touched me at all".

Absolutely no mention of his concern for me. just for himself.

Would this have bothered you or am I reading too much into it?

I know for a fact my ex would have said

"I was getting ready to have a go, if they'd touched YOU at all".

YABVU, why would you want your DH to have a go at someone for knocking into him/you? It doesn't sound as though this bloke was doing anything particularly troublemaking apart from being a bit annoying when you were truing to watch a film.

Im sure he meant the both of you, maybe im wrong,men sometimes, dont always say, the way they think,if he felt uncomfortable, im sure he must have known you were too. I think YABVU comparing him to an ex though.

Also, would have wanted him to make a scene in the middle of a cinema, because someone was annoying(not threatening, or aggressive) why didnt you move seats?

It's not no concern for you maybe he thinks that you are an equal adult who would have said something yourself to the guy behind you

YABU it was in a cinema and dark so how was he supposed to know if the guy touched you! Perhaps he thinks your an adult who can look after yourself if someone they don't want to brushes past you. I'm sure if they guy had fallen on you/ hit you your DH would have reacted.
