Okay why the idea that gay men can't be married? Throughout history most of them have been, and most even produced children (Richard I was a rare exception who didn't seem able to do his duty), look at Sparta etc. As Matthew Parris put it only a very few people (he includes himself) are totally 100% homosexual.

Actually his rude behaviour makes Andrew seem most like the Duke of Edinburgh.

Throughout History gay men were hounded and tortured and it was illegal to be homosexual.
Gay royalty would have to marry, especially heirs to the throne in order to produce more heirs and continue the royal line.

It's only recently that it's not illegal to be a gay man.
Gay men got married to women as a cover for their homosexuality up until very recently and i expect some still do.

Gay people can now have civil partnerships.Don't know if any of the churches do gay weddings.

A few years ago - while Prince Edward was going out with a woman - a friend of mine told me that a friend of hers [female] was also having an affair with him. Even though the affair was obviously just that, as PE had an official girlfriend, the Other Woman's mum was living in hope.

I have read on Mumsnet that the reason Fergie and Andrew split was not because of her affairs with other men but because of HIS affairs with other men. If so, that may explain why he is so nice to her still - he knows she was badly done by.

Edward is the only one to have a (seemingly) successful marriage. I would have guessed that Andrew not Edward was ghey, if asked.

Well, I have to say that I have known of several very gay and heterosexually married people. So everything is possible.

One of my friends was married for many years, now his her children have 2 mums. (Both lovely, BTW)
