to go out with a huge ceiling leak?

Just saw it this morning, the upstairs neighbour must have forgotten to close the tap or something, because a lot of water is falling from the ceiling. I went to his flat, but he's at work. Asked other neighbours, but don't know his name or number.

Have texted my landlord to tell him as well, but what else can I do?

Should I stay or should I go out as normal? Is there anybody that can be called, such as an emergency service or something?

When I worked for a housing association, tenants with this problem were often advised to call the police as they are allowed to break in so that the source of the leak can be traced and fixed.

You could try them and see if they will do anything.

Ok this is going to sound stupid, but which is the number for the police?

OK, called the metropolitan police, and they called the firemen. It's all settled now. Thanks Rocklover for your advice ;-)
