Snow is not a newsworthy story?

And British people will get prepared for bad weather and get 4x4s, snow chains, insulation, snow ploughs, hats etc?

I suspect about 15.

YABU... Britain enjoys a temperate climate, the incidence of heavy snow is comparatively rare, and to fork out for Nordic style snow-readiness for it to sit idle for 50 weeks of the year would be a silly waste of money. Home insulation and hats, yes... snow-chains no.

but do we? this is the 3rd or 4th year runing with snow that has seized the entire country with panic.

is it not about time we just stopped moaning about something beyond our control and prepared for it?

same as in summer - we may only get really hot weather for a couple of weeks but for that time life is unbearable because we can't cope and have no fans/air conditioning/water.

I don't think the whole country is in a panic - just the TV and newspapers. They love sending some poor reporter onto the North Yorkshire Moors to show us some snow - it gives them something easy to report on.

Most people just talk about the weather because they don't know what else to talk about. It is cold, though isn't it Grin.

I see your point but do the stories not help to make people realise that they really should take the weather conditions seriously. People have died up here from being a bit too eager to get out on the roads when it is not safe to do so. I know the stories are a bit tedious after a while but hopefully they reduce the volume of traffic at least and therefore the number of emergencies.
