My area is spending almost like 3 million
quid on a facility for the homeless.
I think it charity money.

tbh I think using the term 'the homeless' is rather judgemental.

They are not some homogenous group set apart from the rest of society.

fwiw by 2012 all homeless people in Scotland will have a right to permanent housing.

I don't know why the English aren't following suit.

I'll be serious if you want - I run a day centre for the homeless. We open from 8.30 to 3.30 weekdays, it costs around £300,000 a year just to stay open and from that we get £120,000 from the government, the rest is fundrasing and donations. I am happy to spout more figures and facts if necessary.

It's a very interesting subject, Gobby.

In my area we have built a huge bonfire and we are going to put them on that as we have simply run out of other ideas and at least they'll be toasty warm.
