seeing as snow is forecast for London and the South on Monday. Transport always grinds to a halt when there's snow, so putting added pressure on the crap over stretched train services is just not on.

Or you can look at it the other way: if its going to grind to a halt anyway its a good idea they picked this day to strike!

Yanbu however to think lu staff shouldn't be striking, they have very good pay and conditions, though admittedly I don't know what this latest strike is about.

AbsofCroissant · 26/11/2010 13:41

It's the same thing - about staff being made redundant. I'm hoping they step up the strike so I can stay home and work remotely rather than trudging in in the cold.

YANBU. Pretty much any employee in this country is looking at the threat of redundancy at the moment....

Striking won't achieve anything other than put pressure on businesses that are already struggling. The cost to business when LU strike is huge.

Nobody wants to be made redundant but unfortunately an awful lot of us either have been or will be before things get better.

I might take a few bits home tonight in case I get stuck at home on Monday - I'm in London but catch the bus which gets very stretched during tube strikes.

I'm in the same situation findingmymojo, I can get to work via alterative routes but they'll be impossible on Monday. Plus as my job is time critical and I'm likely to be mega late it's hardly worth it. I can't work from home either, I guess I'll just have to battle in and accept that I'm going to get there 5 hours late or something grrrr
