But they dont nag or reject him do they? They all seem to bloody grateful for the teeny bit of time he bestows on each of them that i could shake them! I think that 5 minutes with a good counsellor about their self esteem and self worth would change the atmosphere in that household no end!

You do hear that a lot about polygamous marriages, they are never balanced, the women end up competing for the man's "favour" -- must be the same with polyandry and most open relationships (huge amount of insecurity even if both partners pretend to have agreed to it).
