Yesterday morning Stephen Purdew had a boy by his second wife of 20 months, at Portland Hospital.

He has been quoted as saying:

"We're really pleased to have a little boy - son and heir, the full set. Hopefully, he'll go into the business - Champneys is a business you keep for ever."

This is a man with a four year old daughter with the same wife - why can't she be heir - how old fashioned can you be.

Plus he has a 19 year old from a previous relationship, how must he be feeling, if truly his father says that the latest son is his heir!!!

It's probably just one of those things you say. Sounds stupid of course, but I highly doubt it's as sinister it's been made to sound here.

Although I could be wrong....

Maybe the older son has already said he doesn't want to go into the family business. He lives abroad anyway.

Don't all fresh Dads spout sweet wonderful nonsense - he obviously absolutely adores the wee boy, let him be. Smile
The whole family must be overjoyed - a healthy baby!

I'm sure he is as much of a twat as he sounds.

i wish he'd be misquoted as saying 'our stuff is actually available as tescos own brand for 1/5 of the price'

that would be good news.
