To be annoyed that dd is not home yet?

DD is 5 and in year 1. DH went to pick her up from school today, and the mother of one of her classmates asked if she could go to play at their house this afternoon. DH said OK, and the mother said that they would drop her back home at 6pm.

She isn't home yet, and I haven't heard anything. DH has now gone out, and I need to go to the supermarket. Would I BU to phone them and say I'm coming to collect her?

YANBU to simply phone them and see if she's on her way, and if not, to do what you said.

YANBU - for a child that young if they say she'll be brought back at 6pm she should be back by now or the mum should have called.
Give her a ring and ask if she wants you to pick up - hopefully that'll drop the hint.

no not unreasonable at all. just call, say you're going out to supermarket and will pick her up on way past.

Thanks, I'll text them now.
