Why do recruit people and employers F you about so much - should be a law against it

DH has put 2 days work into a presentation, driven over 300 miles and had three interviews

BUT THE FUCKERS

are not sure they have a position until May. Which they did not tell him till now. They really like him blah blah blah BUT they are having a rethink about their overall strategy.

Why they can mess with people like this makes me so fucking angry.

You either have a job ot you don't you insincere, waste of time, blood sucking wankers.

How about you indecisive looser fuck off and let DH the jobs you are obviously incapable of doing.

I think employers use the recession as an excuse to slightly shaft people.

yanbu been through this with prospective employer,really got me mad as they could have said from the start there were no jobs at present and not got my hopes up and wasted my time.Think employers know they have the upper hand in the recesion and some smug gits just love the feeling of power.Even more mad now as just been called for jury duty bah

Maybe the employers - some, at least - are taking this as an opportunity to be introduced to some quality candidates, so they can have then on file when things pick up, and not pay the recruitment agency fee! Hmm

I am also deeply suspicious of this sort of "change of strategy"...

It pisses me off no end.

I did a trial for a job once and got told that I had got the job. They promised to ring me with a start date.

I never heard back from them again

So from now on I refuse to do anything for free. I do not want to get shafted again. I think that they were going to be short staffed that day and thought "Great some free labour"

No it was a waitress job. I wanted to go for something else, but I needed the money and something to do.

I have had this and then six months later .... was called up out of the blue and offered a job.

I have also done this to others and offered them a job months after the first interview.

Things do change. The employers are not just doing this for fun - they do have better ways to occupy their time.

As a rule this sort of behaviour is not best practice but there can be circumstances where it is unavoidable. I have recently interviewed a number of candidates for 3 new roles in our company but have now been told by the Board of Directors that they will not now be opening the new division until April 2011 ( was Jan 2011) I feel bad but have had to go back to the potentially successful candidates explain this to them. There are times when, for one reason or another, the business changes strategy mid recruitment and sometimes that can seem unfair but it is what it is.
