How come nobody ever told me this? Finally my two might actually get a badge on their uniform.

Brilliant, although I suspect it seriously contravenes Scout Law.

Every Brownie badge that has come through my house has been attached with bondaweb.

I glue mine on now. I am a horrible sewer (sew-er )

I'm guessing it wasn't a badge for his sewing abilities.

I had to sew 5 on ds's Beaver's uniform last week - gutted. Wish I had known then what I know now! I am terrible at sewing and get knots in the thread and everything.

I pay £2 per badge to the sewing service near my work. Worth every penny.

DH is a Scout Leader. I took a phone call a few months ago from a mother of a Cub (DH was doubling up as Group Scout Leader at the time, and she couldn't get hold of the Cub leader) who wanted to know what stitch to use to sew on her DS badges and which colour thread - green to match the uniform or red to match the badge? Can I presume by this thread that she wasn't a mumsnetter

For what it's worth I couldn't name you a stitch for love nor money, and our Ass. Scout Leaders wife has a nice sideline in sewing on the badges for the Scouts

i was nearly in tears when i had to do ds first lot of badges for his beaver jumper. square ones are fine but the round ones....arrrrgh. i've now figured out if i pin them on before sewing they don't go as wonky. badge glue??? surely thats cheating!

Seriously? There's badge glue? My prayers have just been answered. DD has a shed load for her brownie uniform and I've been putting it off since .... well forever .

There's some on ebay for £2.99 and free postage.

OMG I get cold sweat when I run out of wunderweb. YANBU. It's one of life's must haves...

badge glue

I use bade glue for DD's Brownie badges. I am 37y and can;t be doing with sewing badges, let alone a 14y bothering to do them.

And the Brownie sash is a nightmare - it is so thick. Needles snap the minute they go near them. I have now dispensed with the sahsh and glue the badges directly onto the back of DD's gilet.
