I don't believe they're really in a jungle at all...

.. I think it's all a Truman Show-esque set up in a studio in Dulwich.

(Disclaimer I don't actually watch the show I've only seen the trailers! And they're enough to put me off)

It is filmed in the studios that Nassa used for the moon landings

PatFig · 22/11/2010 13:47

NASA I should say

I know some people get upset about bad spelling and grammer

Sidge · 22/11/2010 13:50

You could be right.

Their camp looks like a garden centre

Chil1234 · 22/11/2010 14:03

It's a real jungle. Well, real-ish with cameras, lights, gantries, scene-shifters, stand-by safety crew and walk-ways but at least it's outside. Used year-round to be the set for IACGMO for several different countries. My favourite is the German title... it's so deliciously camp.

"Ich bin ein STAR. Holt mich hier raus!"

faverolles · 22/11/2010 14:05

They're all staying at center parcs. Every night, they go to executive accomodation with hot tubs and free flowing chocolate (or bean sprouts in Gillian McKeiths case)

Sidge · 22/11/2010 14:23

How does that translate Chil? (Daren't ask German MIL!)

Nah I'm not convinced it's real - it's too clean and shiny and perfect looking.

"I am a star! Take me out of here!"
(not Chil, but can speak german!)

Sidge · 22/11/2010 14:35

Thank you Bluebell!

Was worried it might be some pervy German version Grin

I suppose after you've had consecutive groups of international D-lebrities fannying about in any campsite for weeks on end it's going to acquire a certain polish... (Ant and Dec OTOH are definitely wafted away in their silk gowns to luxury hotels) The authenticity convincer for me is when the infra-red camera catches the odd rat or big spider crawling across a sleeping bag. Lovely

Sidge · 22/11/2010 15:24

Ah you see I've never watched it for long enough to notice spiders in sleeping bags.

The cynical me would think they'd been planted there Wink

An Aussie cleb was asked if he would go on it, he said no because he grew up around the corner from there so spent a lot of time there so it wouldn't be the same for him. He also added that they're behind a hotel that's a short walk away from them.

TotorosOcarina · 22/11/2010 15:36

Hhahahah centre parcs!

kenobi · 22/11/2010 15:50

It's filmed in a town called Dungay a hop skip and jump from the hugely touristy Gold Coast and Byron Bay. I think it would take about 5 mins to get back to civilisation. here
