we were informed at 3.10pm today that the children needed to wear school uniform AND spots tomorrow Hmm

so I have cut lots of spots out of fleece to tack onto his jumper. Then it occurred to me that rather than use a clean jumper I could just cover up the food marks on today's with spots! Voila... spotty AND eco-friendly Grin

Am v grumpy with our school - only spotty accessories allowed. WTF do you give a 7yo boy as a spotty accessory?

Maybe a spotty Bear

Valpollicella · 18/11/2010 21:15

the children in need theme this year is 'show your spots lets raise lots', I'm pleased because it means i can wear Jeans to work with a token spotty scarf!

missymousie · 18/11/2010 22:29

lol I'm covering an old school shirt I can't get clean with felt tip spots - thought it was a great idea but everyone at ds's school seems to have had same idea separately..... and now mumsnet too!

SuePurblybiltByElves · 18/11/2010 22:33

Genius.
How are you all so short on spotty clothing though? Is it an age thing? I have looked tonight and DD has two dresses, two tops, two skirts, three pairs of trews and a hooded top in spots of varying types. She's 4.

feetheart · 18/11/2010 22:37

SuePurblybiltByElves - Boys!!
DD sorted about 6 times over, DS - t-shirt and paint :)

SuePurblybiltByElves · 18/11/2010 22:41

Ah. That explains it Smile

I remember one year I got sent out on supply on Comic Relief day - trying to remain professional while being greeted with a head wearing a red wig, red nose and red boxer shorts over his trousers was a somewhat interesting experience not covered in teacher training.

eatyourveg · 19/11/2010 08:02

Brill! I never let them wear a clean jumper on a friday anyway.

emptyshell · 19/11/2010 08:10

eatyourveg - I always timetable art on a Friday afternoon when I've got classes of my own in case they get mank on their jumpers so it can all hit the wash straight after they get home from school.

Should see the state of some jumpers that roll in on a Friday anyway - yoghurttacular.

thisisyesterday · 19/11/2010 10:25

yes spots are seriously lacking for boys.
stripes we have tons of! but no spots sadly

emptyshell - Yes ds2 has art timetabled for last thing on a friday afternoon too, I am so glad. Maybe you are his teacher!

thisisyesterday · 19/11/2010 16:38

well the spots worked! ds1 won a prize at school and had to get up in assembly to show everyone his spots Grin
