to feed my DD's ready brek a YEAR out of date?

They wanted porridge for breakfast (they are 9 and 3), all I could find was a box of ready brek, opened but a year out of date (Oct 2009)!
It smelt ok, looked ok and I couldnt see any weevils, so I cooked it and they ate it fine. No ill effects so far.

Not sure, it may be getting a bit out of date. . Personally i would give it to the DP /DH but not the kids. His tummy is stronger.
Glad ur kids were ok though !!!!. . .

I heard on the radio (I think) about a woman who was given very out of date Ready Brek as a small child that was full of flies egss and then started throwing up maggots. I really hope it was made up. Put me off Ready Brek for life.

they only had it this morning so assume maggots take some time to hatch
