why do we let the retail trade rule the roost?

If numpties didn't start xmas shopping so early, the shops wouldn't stock xmas goods until December.

ShatnersBassoon · 15/11/2010 14:41

It will be 8.5 months before the shops can start Christmas in August. Don't worry about it yet.

saffy85 · 15/11/2010 14:41

Erm.... They already do start in August. Where hell have you been? Hmm

Odd query considering it's now middle of November....

And yes this numpy starts shopping in August. Spreads the cost. It's very handy actually.

BikeRunSki · 15/11/2010 14:44

Costco does.

BikeRunSki · 15/11/2010 14:45

I think there is an argument for having things in stock to spread the cost, but we don't need a hard sell, grottos etc until - well now at earliest.

Our retail Christmas starts at October half-term. Two weeks before, we had customers moaning because there were no Christmas books on display!..
