To suggest a mumsnet app on my Iphone would be nice? Mumsnet don't even have a mobile site!

However why doesn't it automatically detect that I'm visiting the site using an iPhone like BBC site? Quite easy to do apparently (says IT consultant dh)!

Surprised there's no app yet mumsnet! My dh says he could do one in two weeks. Don't mean to sound ungrateful though! :)

Why do you think the 'Customise' page has so many options?

Thanks for that link I had no idea it existed either it's much better on my Ipad.

We all moan a lot when anything changes.

And the mobile version is a lot better on iPod touch/iPhone as it was altered on Friday and was then better for non apple device users and there was much moaning and it was restored to its usual settings.

To make an "app button" on iPhone or iPad you click on the + button at the top of the menu bar then select
"Add to home screen"

Voilà - a mn button.

I actually find it easier to use the main mumsnet site on my mobile than the mobile site. Maybe it's just the way I view the talk threads but I prefer the site not detecting I'm on a mobile.

I agree with nannynick, but then I use my phone on the wireless network at home much more than I use it on my GPRS network, for which the mobile site would be much better.

I have the mn mobile site on a shortcut icon on my HTC phone homepage, so may as well be an app, just as easy.

Ruddynora, how did you do that - put shortcut on home page? I've got a Desire and would love to do that. Ta.

Open mn mobile then click menu button. Then select add bookmark to save the site.

Then on your homepage click the + button and choose add shortcut. You then get options for types of shortcut. You select bookmarks and pick mn.

Easier than that probably sounds!

I've got a Desire and the normal site looks better than the mobile site. Anyhoo I'm a gonna do that bookmarky thing. Ta for that.
