To be really cross on another forum

I am a member of another, mostly female, forum (not Netmums) where the tone is extremely supportive of everyone as we are all dealing with the same health issue. They are lovely but the tone is quite different to some parts of MN - where the more challenging and bolshy aspect of some areas of this forum is something I cherish. For example, on the other forum there is never any correction of atrocious spelling or ungrammatical statements.

Anyway - some of the posters go out of their way to write very long posts including personal messages to everyone who has posted. So far, so thoughtful. In answer to one of these recently another poster has replied "Oh xxx poster, your personals are amazing and inspirational - u r the leader of us all". I soooo want to post "Well, speak for yourself, no one's my bloody leader" This would be the single most out of forum character post imaginable but I am really incensed. AIBU?

You are BVU to want to correct anyones spelling, how do you know that some of them arent dyslexic?

FWIW I know my spelling and grammar arent perfect, but I still post, I just cant be arsed correcting it, and as this isnt school and im not doing an English exam, i dont give a toss.

We all have flaws, if they are as lovely as you say, then you overlook those flaws, and be grateful for the support, or leave the site

Can you post something similar but not quite as strong... maybe... 'It's lovely that you feel that way x, however, one of the things I like about this site is that we are all equals and don't have, or need, a 'leader''.

kelly - I too thought that some of the posts could be dyslexic - with which I obviously take no issue. But some of them are in textspeak - which i find bizarre when we are all talking about serious and emotionally charged issues and most of the posters are quite mature ladies. BTW my grammar and spelling aren't perfect either - by any means - but I like to be corrected as I prefer to get it right. A properly constructed and spelt sentence is far easier to read. Anyway - the spelling/grammar issue isn't the deal breaker here - it's the "we'll all follow you" thing.

I think you are both correct and I'll have to leave the board as it is too fluffy. Sad though because it really is the best place for the particular health problem.

You should try the Bounty site for drama queens/fluffiness.

It makes me want to saw through my own leg just to have something heavy and blunt to beat myself to death with.

I avoid it now, it seemed a good idea when i was newly pregnant

Half of them just cant seem to think for themselves, a lot of them seem very young and a bit thick.

Thats just my experience by the way, im sure a lot of them are lovely, but theres only so many "what do you think of this name?" threads and "what benefits am i entiteld to?" threads you can read and so many virtual hugs and huns you take before wanting to lose your rag and tell them to come over to mumsnet for some answers, especially in AIBU
