whenever you bake anything, e.g. cookies, cakes and so on, they never make the promised 25 or 12 or whatever the recipe says?

Without fail I find that a recipe for 12 makes about 7, the desire for 24 biscuits is never realised, and 8 portions of cake is a physical impossibility unless slicing with cheese wire or a precision laser cutter.

Remember sara lea chocolate gateaux? Serves eight my arse! My mum used to cut them in quarters. :-)

Are they the ones that are frozen and supposed to defrost within 2 hours 'cept they mean 20?

Think I used to buy them as a student and eat them half frozen through impatience.

Try Delia.

Actually I think her mince pie recipe came close to producing the requisite number of pies.

Tonight's inspiration for this thread was Nigella's cranberry and white choc chip cookies. Supposed to make 35 but made just over 20 (can't be sure as we were eating them as they cooled from the oven, but deffo not 35). I'd have thought, being Ms Lawson that one would expect to get more not less since she probably scoops great voluptuous dollops out with her nail varnished fingers and licks half the bowl out like I did not

Pee sized? Pee sized?

Oh my word...

lucky1979 · 12/11/2010 22:37

Define pee size, would that be like on a hot day when you're a bit dehydrated or the kind after you've been out drinking all night?

On second thoughts, I think that I'll live without knowing...

hobbgoblin · 12/11/2010 22:41

lololol!

You don't want to know how long it took me to realise my error there.

I was reading, going "what's so funny pombearadnauseum, I haven't got the wrong spelling of pea, what are you on about?"

I don't know, poisonous chicken curry and now pissing in the cookie mix...
