to be a little annoyed about her behaviour

I work in the media, and recently got an audition for quite a lucrative gig. There were two groups (let's call them A and B!), and we all auditioned with it being filmed for a future documentary as part of the gig.

I got an e-mail today saying that my group did not get the part, even though we were significantly better than the B group, because one of our members refused to sign the release form to allow the footage to be used.

AIBU to bollock her for wasting our time for even attending the audition in the first place?

Grrr..

Seems pretty unfair.
Can't that girl just be replaced? What on earth was she doing there if she never intended to follow it through?

Has she actually refused, or just not got around to it?

YANBU. Is it the real reason though?

LessonsinL · 12/11/2010 17:56

phipps yes, she brought that up during her protests. I have no idea. I know that we performed really well and if there was another reason, it wasn't mentioned.

Seems the auditioners should have thought about this and asked before they filmed for people to release it. What did this person think they were taping it for? Hmm

PaisleyLeaf · 12/11/2010 18:05

If that's the way they organise things, you're probably better off out of it.

LessonsinL · 12/11/2010 18:05

They did ask her, she said she'd like to read over it and would send it back, which she didn't and proceeded to ignore their phone calls and follow up e-mails.

She also said "how do you know that's the reason, there might be something else" which is more than a little frustrating as she's bringing my abilities into question (which is also insulting).

Tell her it IS because she won't sign it and she took away other peoples chances.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 12/11/2010 19:21

Why the bloody hell did she go if she didn't want to be filmed?

What did she think she was going for?

Unless she didn't know about the documentary thing beforehand?

LessonsinL · 13/11/2010 12:49

She knew, was told before the filming and after.

I've had "sorries" in various forms, but I'm not impressed to the point where I won't be working with her again.
