...to be irritated by spice jars?

Ok - not the greatest problem in the world but I just don't understand why...
You buy a jar of dried herbs or spices. You know, the sort that recipes recommend you add 1/2 teaspoon of this or 1 teaspoon of that. The jars have wide necks but are never quite wide enough to let you put a tea spoon in. Why? When that is how most recipes tell you to measure the stuff out?

OK, back to thinking what to make for tea...

Buy herbs and spices in bulk and keep them in old jam jars.

Yes! Agree! And and..why do you have to buy so much at once? It takes me ages to use up some spices. I always have more than I need in those jars and the flavour fades if they are too old. They should sell it in sachets like sugar.
