My cleaner has used nearly a whole bottle of cleaning stuff that I only bought brand new the other day, we only have 1 small bathroom and 1 small kitchen, I dont understand how she could use something in one go that would usually last me a month. Aibu to say something to her?

Maybe ask if there's a cleaning product she prefers. Phrase it 'I noticed that bottle of XYZ product didn't last long... what do you recommend that'll go a bit further?'

Were you in when she did it? Perhaps she takes some home to clean her house with.

woahthere · 12/11/2010 12:17

no i was out, i must admit, i did wonder if she had syphoned some off but have seen the empty bottle in the bin so unless she brought a bottle with her? I really hope not, I thought she was quite nice

Well, I did when scrubbing mils floorboards that haven't been done for about 28 years (I know as I've been with her ds for 25 and they hadn't been done then).

HarlotOTara · 13/11/2010 17:41

maybe she spilt it

Myleetlepony · 13/11/2010 18:20

What was it? Did she maybe de-limescale your bathroom tiles or something?

tummysgottogo · 13/11/2010 18:24

Mine did that too. I think it just doesn't really matter to her as it's not hers.

fel1x · 13/11/2010 18:30

maybe she poured loads into bucket to add to water to mop floors?
get some disinfectant type stuff instead for that purpose?

keep the empty bottle and buy another, refilling the old one with a little at a time so she can only use a limited amount...?

lady007pink · 13/11/2010 18:38

My MIL does this too. I can't complain as she does the school run now and again then gives our house a clean, but uses up all the bleach, Dettol and Cif in the process!

ChippingIn · 13/11/2010 19:02

We had a cleaner that was like that - we kept her though as she did a good job, we just didn't give her a payrise when we normally would have!
