DD (9m) has a chest infection and has been a nightmare in the evening since Friday - basically will not sleep unless on me. I have hardly been able to eat because she just wakes up every 15 minutes, even if you do manage to get her to sleep. Last night she screamed for 2.5hours, even with me sitting holding her. Then we had a hideous night.

She was much better today, happy and cheerful after some ABs and I was hoping to have a better evening. She has been screaming since 7.20 and DH has taken over trying to get her to sleep.

AIBU to be standing in the kitchen swigging red wine out of the bottle Grin

In humour - get a straw at least woman. In all seriousness - trip back to doctor tomorrow.

Piccalilli2 · 11/11/2010 20:02

Only because there's a risk you'll end up doing that horrible coughing and snorting wine out of your nose thing. Oh the pain.

Hope you get some sleep and dd feels better

We only got the ABs yesterday - so it's prob a bit premature for that.
I think the main issue is that the last 5 nights she been in our bed and now does NOT want to go back in the cot, thankyou very much indeed

Well I always reckoned that there was a vast improvement after the 4th dose. If there's none by tomorrow pm I'd still make another appointment. Poor you though - these are the tough times.

Fibilou · 11/11/2010 20:07

The worst thing is that DD is usually such a delightfully happy baby, never cries unless something is wrong. It breaks my heart to hear her screaming relentlessly

Are her ribs sucking in a bit?

ChippingIn · 11/11/2010 20:12

Only in that it is so much nicer out of a lovely glass - but needs must & all that!

I'd keep her in with you tonight until the AB's kick in then it's 'back to your cot young lady!'

Iwishiwasalive · 11/11/2010 20:20

No YANBU. Is there any way you and DH could take shifts with DD so that you can get some sleep tonight?

Hope DD feels better soon.

togarama · 11/11/2010 20:21

YANBU. Though bear in mind that I was swigging out of a mini-bottle of chilled Chardonnay on the train on the way home when I read this... (long day, job interview, and just felt like it, franklv).

Hope your baba feels better soon. It's horrible seeing them ill.

olderyetwider · 11/11/2010 22:06

Whatever gets you through is fine by me!

melikalikimaka · 11/11/2010 22:17

Swig away, you deserve it!
