To take this up with the school

DD is 17, and today (at 2pm, actually) was told that she has ADHD.
She was in a private school for all of her high school years, and the last 2 of her primary years.
I really want to know why nobody has ever brought this up before, since DD2 is still at the same school I'm thinking of bringing it up at the next meeting.

Tbh, I have no fucking idea where to go from here and know I'm angry at someone - would mentioning this to the school even be appropriate? DD says since she left last year she isn't their concern anymore.
Well, she isn't, but I want answers from someone.

Besides - ADHD, like a lot of things, is a spectrum - you can have it a little or a lot. If she had it badly you would already know about it, as would the school.

OP you will get lots of good advice and support on the SEN board. You must be feeling very raw at the moment.
I couldn't cut and paste as it's a PDF, but if you google 'Fintan O Regan ADHD girls' there's a really good piece about halfway down the page on how ADHD can affect girls and also about the link with depression. I saw him speak about this area once and he was of the opinion that sometimes girls with ADHD get overlooked in school, as girls can present differently depending on how they are affected.
