Full time staff looking down on part time staff

I'm fed up with being patronised, getting sarcastic comments and being talked down to by colleagues just because I work part time and they work full time. I get half the pay they do and they could also work part time if they wanted to. I've worked full time in my job before I had my children and now do school hours. Whats their problem?

I used to get this from one colleague in particular. I used to laugh it off until I realised it was really getting on my nerves. When she made her usual comment on a Wednesday lunchtime, something along the lines of 'finished for the week, alright for some eh?' I used tidybush's technique and said something like 'yep, finished work for this week and finished getting paid for this week too'. She never said anything again.
Take pride in that, as others on here have said, employers get more than their money's worth from part-timers. I work 3 days a week now, but I still do about the same amount of work as full-timers. And look for another job!!

and another thing, my 3 days at work are my easiest 3 days of the week, being mum way more demanding!!!!

I worked part time for years in my job had everyone looking down on me .
Partimeworkers -blahblah really nasty putdown stuff despite the fact I worked really hard and put my all into my job.

3 Years ago the job of my dreams was in the pipeline so I gained as much experience as I could ,got relevent qualifications and applied!-Guess who got the job! Grin
Yes that shut em up !

Luckily my colleagues are mostly great... I sometimes get a few comments when I leave early, but they are said with good will. However, if I do get a comment about being part time, I usually reply "Yeah, being part time is great, until pay day". Its a friendly retort, but a gentle reminder that I do get paid less for doing less. I have never had anyone comment about being able to afford to go part time.
