and i am ONLY 30 FFS Angry

never noticed before but i was looking around while waiting for DS (4) to come out and I am definitely the oldest and by quite a bit as well i think.

dammit they all look so young and trendy, they must think i am a right frumpy old thing :( some of them have got 1 or 2 younger ones with them as well.

and no, before anyone suggests it, they are not nannies. no one in my area could afford one :o

Im pregnant with number 3 (and last too) so I will be 30 when my youngest is in school. So, if i've this right, when Im 30 mine will be 10,almost 7 and 5.

Was just thinking, aside from the few that are 38ish, the rest are definately around mid 40s which, if Im honest, I do find surprising as this appears to be the majority. Dont get me wrong, of course some have babies at this age but some have them younger but I just find it really strange that I appear to be the only person to have had babies in my 20's and everyone else is having them in late 30's and 40's. You'd imagine there would be more equal numbers, if that makes sense.

I didn't meet dh til my 30s then years before we lived in same city, long time before I got pg with ds and for EVER before I got pg with dd! I'm sub fertile, what can you do?
I would have loved to have dc much much much younger but I just wasn't lucky enough to be in that position.
But there are some good things in having them older.
I'm much happier than I was in my 20s and 30s and appreciate dc massively. So I'm probably a better mother now than I might have been when much younger but I'll never know!
It's very hard having them at my age in terms of the physical demands. But what can you do? You take what you can get I guess and work with it!
Also I feel really young in my personality which makes a difference.

LS, I'm in a similiar position to you. Didn't start dating DH until I was 31. Didn't decide to have children for quite a while then had a pretty horrible time getting them.

Oh well, at least I don't look my age Smile

I was 22 when my daughetr started a independent school in Ilkley . I fitted right in Hmm Grin
I am pretty sure everyone thought I was the nanny or au pair until I got talking to them I'm also pretty sure I used to get invited round to lunch just so they could question the hell out of me.

Lucky you!
I suspect I do look my age unfortunately!
But I have a friend who had her daughter at the same age as I was when I had mine so that cheers me up.
But my NCT group were all 8 yrs younger.... which was sad for me. But I'm not complaining!

I'm right in the middle at dd's school, I'm 28 and have dd's of 9,5,3&2. One of the other mums is the sane age as me as we were in the same classes at school (in a different area) we were a bit surprised to see eachother at the school gates :)
