to wonder if it really is cheaper to get gas and electricity from a single supplier?

no idea where to pose this question so thought this might get some replies.

Is it cheaper long term to get both from one supplier?

or is it better to stay with single ones?

is it a hassle to change supplier?

It works out cheaper for us, and easier because hubby works for our energy supplier so knows the people to contact if we've got issues that need resolving.

Worth going onto something like uswitch armed with some of your recent bills and doing a cost comparison probably - as for switching supplier, that's pretty much a matter of a couple of phonecalls, paying anything remaining with the old supplier and then getting bills from a new one (think they quote it taking about a month to switch over). Your old supplier's got the power to block you leaving if you're scarpering with debt on the account - but that's it really.

Cheaper for us and having an online account gets you extra discounts.

Just switched to a different tariff with our current supplier and should get an extra £150 or so off a year.

I have changed about 3 timesin the last 8 years, is very easy.

Have a look on moneysaving expert first, as they sometimes have exclusive offers.

Then have a play on uswitch or simply switch to see what is cheaper for you.

To change, you just sign up to the new one. Then you get a grovelling letter from the old supplier saying please don't leave.

You get a final bill/final reading and Done.

Piece of piss. I got £35 amazon voucher last time I switched, definitely worth shopping around for a dealSmile

I have dual fuel online account capped until the end of next year and I am definitely paying less than a few people I know ( don't know if it's the best deal I could have got but will shop around again when it comes to an end)
