Woke up this morning with a stinking cold and sore throat.

DGD3 3 weeks old is in hospital with bronchilitus, poor little thing being fed through a tube and another for oxygen.

I promised to pick up DD2 from the hospital so she can come and get a bath. Her DP will stay with baby.

DD1 offers to go for me as I feel so unwell.

DD1s car breaks down on the way to the hospital, so I drive and get them come back.

Later I drive DD2 back to the hospital just as we get there DD1 phones DGD2 age 2 has had a fall on a mega brick which has cut her badly under the chin.

So I have to leave DD2 with her new baby and drive back to get DD1 and DGD2 to go to another hospital A&E to wait for three hours to get stitches.

I am tired stressed and feel like crap.

There is no point to this post just having a rant.

I don't have any words of wisdom, but lots of sympathy for you. I sincerely hope things look better in the morning...hope the baby gets better soon.

What a horrible day. <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/00999/Tea-Biscuits_999906c.jpg&imgrefurl=www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/3087838/Tea-and-biscuits-for-everyone-arriving-in-Britain.html&usg=__wIzdEWlHYUReGS5tB0WPGI0UpJI=&h=288&w=460&sz=34&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=1x-WS0TxgF-E-M:&tbnh=110&tbnw=175&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcup%2Bof%2Btea%2Band%2Ba%2Bbiscuit%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-GB:official%26biw%3D1430%26bih%3D405%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=315&ei=9n7aTNK-A5LovQPTnOjxCQ&oei=1n7aTMfhDdOccfTmicMG&esq=8&page=1&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0&tx=66&ty=93" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Here you go

Hope your DGDs are both better soon, especially the baby - I've done some time in SCBU with DD3 just after she was born and it's not easy watching your baby with all those tubes in.

You're a great mum, mind you - just like mine, she'd drop everything for us too at times like this.

Bumperlicious · 10/11/2010 11:25

I prescribe:

a cup of tea
a piece of really lovely cake
an hour or two on the sofa with a blanket and a good book/trashy magazine/crap TV programme
