to wonder if there is a hierachy of horns?

Just pondering.

I know trucks have big feckoff air horns.

And little mopeds just have tiny beeps.

So does it follow that medium size cars have middle-of-the-road horns?

Boy racer cars have discordant horns?

Posh Cars have sedate horns?

Camper Vans have funky horns?

What's your horn like?

I am obviously a very good driver as i have very limited horn experience

depending on the time of the month, I have 2 which grow out of my forehead.

My Honda Civic (which I loved but swapped for a five-door car when I got pregnant) made the most pathetic beep.

My Mercedes A-Class (which was rubbish! I hated it; had to take it to garage every few months for some problem or other, costing hundreds each year) made a similar noise but was perhaps marginally more "meaty".

My newish Vauxhall Vectra (by far the biggest car I've ever driven. I don't much like parking it, but love the fact that I can fit a baby elephant in the boot) makes a much more robust honk. Trouble is, it's got stereo controls on the steering wheel, so when I got angry with another driver last week, for swerving into my lane without even indicating, I accidentally switched over to Radio 1 before I managed to honk.

My little 40 year old beetle has a very loud voice! Honks like a good'un and easily outrevs the boy racers

What about horns that play a tune?! Used to be a car driving round here that did a very funny tune, it was a clapped out old banger!

I'm humming the tune now but no idea how to transcribe it!

I have never heard a horn-tune.

I want my horn to play La Cucaracha. But it would sounds silly from a wee Ford Ka.

i want one like the little traction engines you see at steam rallies, the ones that go 'wheee-Whizz WhiZZZZ!!
