I have just purchased a (smallish IMHO) aero chocolate bar for 60p. 60P! Surely its mostly air! I can breath that for free!!!!

CerealOffender · 08/11/2010 15:27

you bought it!

loonies · 08/11/2010 15:30

Yes I did. Tasted rather nice as well.

OP posts:
muggglewump · 08/11/2010 15:35

Take it back and enjoy your breath thenGrin

Blatherskite · 08/11/2010 15:35

I miss Aeros, especially Mint ones but they're made by the evil Nestle so I can't have one Sad

loonies · 08/11/2010 15:38

Well I've eaten it now muggles, not sure that nestle would appreciate regurgitated chocolate and air. Also my usual breath is not quite so chocolately. Mmm perhaps I was being unreasonable after all.

I like to look at the number of calories/fat/sugar/whichever floats your boat per 100g and buy the one with the highest proportion. That way, you can ensure you are getting your money's worth. You will learn.

CerealOffender · 08/11/2010 15:40

yes, terms of value for money re. calories you should just eat oak

loonies · 08/11/2010 15:40

Thanks for the advice Serendippy

Though wine/vodka/beer is mainly just water and look at what they charge for that.
Scandalous it is.

nickelbangBANGbang · 08/11/2010 15:44

you should buy cadbury's dairy milk.

melt it in a bowl over a pan of water, then put in a teaspoon of sodium bicarb.

spoon it out into a container, then into the fridge.

voila! cadbury's aero!

Mumcentreplus · 08/11/2010 15:44

Ha! 60p tis robbery ...you may as well get a multi-pack from Iceland it makes more sense...

but you have to think about your self control...mine is very GOOD everyone else in my home? BAD!

loonies · 08/11/2010 15:45

Asda's own brand version of Aero is delish. I also miss Aero's due to the Nestle being bastards issue. Really miss Drifters too, good value on the calories per pence spend there too.

Blatherskite · 08/11/2010 16:04

I'm sure I've heard that there is a decent sub for After Eights too...just got to work out where to get them before Christmas!

Coca · 08/11/2010 16:08

If you are avoiding Nestle watch out for the own brand substitutes, I temped in a Nestle factory when I was a student and they produce things for the big supermarkets too. Random off thread info but there you go Grin

emptyshell · 08/11/2010 16:15

My dad bought an Aero once that didn't have the bubbles in it. More chocolate or less bubbly? Hmm

loonies · 08/11/2010 16:36

I once had a kit-kat chunky with no biscuit, was rather nice but a bit chewy.

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 08/11/2010 16:41

Loonies - I had a solid chocolate Kit Kat once - no biscuit at all - unfortunately I was with friends and forced to share it roundSad

Has there ever been an aero with a white coloured filling, - or was it a dream I had?

loonies · 08/11/2010 16:44

I don't remember it Kurri sounds like a good though

OP posts:
loonies · 08/11/2010 16:46

Your 60p. Your choice.

Errr can I interest you in some big pieces of toblerone, loonies ?
Bargain at 50p a triangle, sure I could add some air at no extra cost.:o

Rhinestone · 08/11/2010 17:50

Do you remember Wispas? Cadbury's version of Aero - except they were shite.

Want a mint Aero now, mmmmmm.

loonies · 08/11/2010 17:58

Wispa's came back Rhinestone! Get with the times. They are lush far nicer than aeros and a lot less air. Mmmm I want an aero now.

OP posts:
Rhinestone · 08/11/2010 17:59

Ha ha, am so behind the times!! In my day Wispas were shite. And don't even get me started on Boosts.

loonies · 08/11/2010 18:01

Nooooo I meant I want a Wispa, I'd happily pay 60p for one of those
