Friend (who I haven't been in contact with for ages - my choice) has started contacting me again.
She misses me, she's depressed, relations with her daughter are terrible, she hates her job, she's suicidal.
Then drops the 'I've discovered this wonderful product which really works and I feel so much better I'm quitting my job and working for myself.'

I'm being cautious and making 'oh poor you' noises and completely ignoring the unsubtle selling.

Last email asked if I knew anyone who would be interested in working under her to sell these products.

AIBU to completely ignore her?

Oh lawks! My mate got into pyramid selling and called me to ask for all my other mates numbers...people she had met once...then my MIL got into some herbal nonsense and tried to make my DH and his sis give her "Investment money" I dont know how people can be so thick!

Ignore her.

OMG! I have had more than one 'friend' add me on facebook only to discover they were pyramid selling.....why do people who do this always have to be so sneaky about it!! Answered my own question actually. I always shudder when I hear about the concepts and internally I can hear Bernie Madoff Bernie Madoff!!

Oh I've had this - it was a phone network thingie.
It was almost like a cult: how much they all believed etc.
And I've not had much to do with that family since, even though it was years ago and they've more than likely moved on from that now.
