to not want to see strippers and dancers rubbing their breasts

on prime time weekend TV?

What is going on?

Aside for TV being crap on Friday and Saturday night I have slowly been drawn into X factor (virgin fast forward ONLY) and caught two minutes of Paul O'Grady (Friday night how?) and there's a glorified stripper burlesque dancer swinging her breasts and getting naked except for a couple of sequins and then Wagner, on X factor, having dancers rubbing and squeezing (choreographed moves) their breasts.

Why are we subjected with this shit that should have died in the eighties?

I would like to sit down at he weekend and be graced with entertainment not Hooters meets Jedward style TV, thanks. Is that unreasonable?

(but Jedward on Buzzcocks was uncomfortable too, albeit hilarious ......did you feel whilst they were painful you felt like everyone was a bit harsh, but then how would you cope with them???)

Well I am totally unbothered by burlesque but WRT jedward on buzzcocks, that was hysterical. I think they are either genuinely both thick and thick-skinned so it rolls off them (tbh that's quite likely) or they are much smarter than they appear and it's all a big act.

Mumcentreplus · 07/11/2010 10:10

YANBU...Saturday night T.V is utter bollocks..

PosieComeHereMyPreciousParker · 07/11/2010 10:49

It's like I'm in some sort of timewarp.... why have we got semi naked women on TV again?

Not quite in the same league but whats with the even-skimpier-than-last-year on Strictly. My 5 yo loves the dancing ladies, but some of the outfits there are verging on the unnecessarily risqué.

PosieComeHereMyPreciousParker · 07/11/2010 11:12

It's all getting a little annoying.

I don't really see the problem. Cliche, but you don't have to watch if you don't like it....

nemofish · 07/11/2010 12:25

True, but I insist on some balance.

I want to see loads of blokes with massive erect dicks adorned with pineapple rings, thrusting their pelvises and miming how good they are at cunnilingus with two fingers and their tongues. And I want that to be on a tampax advert. Oh and on car adverts, adverts for washing machines and pictured in the Sunday papers on page 2.

I want drunk men on the town to live in fear of being cornered and felt up by agressive pissed women who want to bend them over and tell them they are bad boys and have to be punished.

And I will deliver all this and more when you Vote Nemofish.

PosieComeHereMyPreciousParker · 07/11/2010 13:48

I know I don't have to watch but I do wonder what program makers and schedulers are thinking.

Similar experience at the gym. Tubby, middleaged woman (moi) toiling away on the tredmill face by near pornographic music videos on the TV displays. Motivating? Hmm

I've felt a little uncomfortable about some of the Strictly outfits too. It's easy to say don't watch, but DS (4) really enjoys the dancing, and it is supposed to be 'family entertainment'...

Off topic, DD (22months) was flicking through my Bravissimo underwear catalogue saying 'mmmmm, milk in dere' this morning - she knows what they're for Grin

PosieComeHereMyPreciousParker · 07/11/2010 14:11

rhine....that's ace!

OP posts:
Heracles · 08/11/2010 00:44

Well I'm not going to rub their breasts for them.

nemofish · 08/11/2010 16:14

Well those breasts won't rub themselves you know Heracles!

OracleInaCoracle · 08/11/2010 16:19

along a simillar line, five showed beetlejuice on saturday at 3.30. tis a fab film and i thought it might have been edited, but no, as soon as i switched it over there was michael keaton doing a wanking hand gesture behind gina davies... not entirely appropriate...

cupcakesandbunting · 08/11/2010 16:25

Hmmm. The Wagner dancing girls thing is a bit tongue in cheek and a tad difficult to get offended by, IMO. But yes, would like to see Mary flanked by semi-nude Jean Paul Gaultier-type male models.

Yum yum pigs bum.

QuintessentialShadows · 08/11/2010 16:25

Posie, dont you know only looooooosers watch tv on a saturday night? They have done their market research, and realized what target group tunes in, and found THIS is the time to air the Hooters meets Jedward style tv shows.

Porcelain · 08/11/2010 16:32

Rhinestone, that is the best thing I have read all day!

sethstarkaddersmum · 08/11/2010 16:36

I vote Nemofish

nemofish · 08/11/2010 16:45

Yay, that's one!

earwicga · 08/11/2010 16:48

YANBU. Wagner totally pisses me off and that is before he goes on stage. for his Benny Hill cabaret act. And all the crotch grabbing from the male dancers - it's so pathetic.
