Today, in M&S loos; really busy; they run out of soap. Mum next to me at the sinks says to her 5yo DD: 'Never mind, darling' and takes her out without having washed her hands.
Quarter of an hour later, in the foodhall bit downstairs getting some bread. Notice the same child next to me looking through the (unwrapped, fresh-baked) pastries on the shelves -- lovingly stroking each croissant and then carefully putting her fingers INTO each lattice tart on the shelf. You know, in that almost-OCD way kids of that age have...
Mum looks over, sees her doing it, clocks me seeing her seeing.... and then says, 'Come along, darling' and walks off.
AIBU to have wanted to find the nearest member of staff and tell them to bin those things??
