...should have sent a £2/3 choccie voucher option alongside/instead of the wine voucher?

I never use these because I (and none in my household) can drink it.

[Yes, I am very, very bored].

They should, from the point of view that if you dont drink, you probalby never order wine (?) and therefore they should know that by now.

But yeah.

TrillianAstra · 06/11/2010 12:52

Have you ever ordered wine?

Also does everyone get this? I have just checked through my emails and the anniversary of my 1st Ocado order is coming up - does that mean I'll get something nice? :)

BaggyCoconut · 06/11/2010 12:53

YANBU - all the supermarkets gather details of what we buy in order to send us promotions we would be interested in.

I take it if no one in your house drinks wine, you buy wine very seldom, am I right?

They should have sent you soemthing better.

TrillianAstra · 06/11/2010 12:59

If you have bought wine seldom but not never maybe they think some free wine will be a lovely treat.

If you have never bought wine then they should presumae you are teetotal and not send wine offers.

PrivetDancer · 06/11/2010 13:08

Yes that's very odd if you've never bought it. I just got a free bottle of harveys Bristol cream for my 2nd anniversary :) it is something I've bought before (although not for a while) so it's a good pressie

You could either use it for a Christmas present for someone or if you email them I bet they'd send you another one instead for something you would use.

TrillianAstra · 06/11/2010 13:10

Where is OcadoAnnie when you need her?

snowmash · 06/11/2010 13:22

Polite email sent...

I was really miffed when I had one of these vouchers, but was away for a while and not using Ocado.. When I returned and tried to use it, it wouldn't let me.

I queried, and was told (in a pretty brusque way) that the offer had expired. There was no "use by" date on it at all: was I meant to have second sight, or something!

TotorosOcarina · 06/11/2010 13:29

I don't use ocado but am really bored of the assumption that everyone drinks wine.

I don't drink at all and always get a bottle of wine for my birthday even though everyone knows i don't drink anything and am always being told to 'relax wih a nice glass of wine' etc...

PrivetDancer · 06/11/2010 13:49

I really want to know if you've ever ordered wine / booze from them though to prompt the voucher..

(yes I am quite bored too)

mangoandlime · 06/11/2010 16:35

The voucher is probably just what they are giving out at the moment, you're all overthinking it! I reckon your order flags up as being an anniversary one, someone plucks a voucher/bottle of wine/box of chocs from the pile and you should be grateful for it too! Smile

llareggub · 06/11/2010 16:43

I've never order wine from Ocado, yet they keep sending me vouchers for it. We don't drink here so it isn't much of a freebie!

CheeryCherry · 06/11/2010 16:43

I sometimes think I should drink wine....then I may eat less chocs, crisps etc! Wink

breatheslowly · 07/11/2010 09:31

I thought the same - we got a voucher for sherry as we use it for cooking and must be the only alcohol we buy from Ocado except for gin.

thisisyesterday · 07/11/2010 09:35

yabu!

it's a supermarket, you shouldn't expect anything from them at all!
"oh no, this free stuff i've been sent isn't the free stuff i want"

ungrateful! buy the wine and send it to me

missmoopy · 07/11/2010 09:38

"4th anniversary" of what??? shopping with them?
middle class tosh.

PrivetDancer · 07/11/2010 09:45

No missmoopy, wedding anniversary. You can't shop there unless you're married you know.

missmoopy · 07/11/2010 09:50

Grin Privet!

snowmash · 08/11/2010 23:09

:D I was being slightly unreasonable, but the nice people at Ocado sent me a £7.49 voucher (apparently the same as the wine's value).

If I hadn't come on here, I wouldn't have even asked!

Ah Ocado...I used to work for their customer service before they relocated it back to London how I miss it!!!

To think I could have spoken or e-mailed you lovely ladies once upon a time!
